Hello Potter Heads,
While we try to do our best to keep posts upbeat and fun we do have a serious post, so please bear with us as we have a couple of points we wish to make clear, to help both fans and organisers with better use of their time.
Over the last 2 days we have received 76 different requests via emails, asking us questions that are already answered on our website. On a couple of occasions people have become irate as we have not answered them within a day. We are getting so close to the July event at The Printworks now, and are working tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the weekend, and to make the days as fun filled as possible. Alongside this we are working on Halloween Magic at Victoria Warehouse, plus Thronescon in June, so we are very busy right now working for you,
You may have also noticed we have not made too many announcements about what will be at the events and this is for a couple of reasons;
1 – We are still locking down attractions and such, and until they are firmly in place we will not announce them.
2 – We do not want to spoil the surprises. As organisers our job is to ensure you get what you paid for, however, we are working hard to ensure that you get much more than we promised and that we can deliver a fun packed day for all.
Most conventions tend to be large areas with actors, market stalls and perhaps a stage for panels and Q&As. We are planning to put on so many different elements and attractions to keep you entertained throughout the day.
We have also learned that some people are expecting full sized movie sets to be at the convention; this is not true and not possible. We were once asked if it is true that we are building a full size Hogwarts castle. While this would be very exciting, its simply impossible for us to do.
Finally, we have several actors from the films series attending the conventions, and while these actors do all they can to assure they attend the event, on occasion they may have to cancel and/ or change their appearances. We realise that can be upsetting, and both organisers and actors do all we can to avoid this. But it is very common for this to occur at conventions, due to the very nature of how actors jobs work. Fortunately we have not had any major changes but one guest has had to change their appearance dates.
We urge people to check the website here for information as it is the only place we can feature all T&Cs/FAQs, updates and such, that is accessible to all. Only 60% of the people who hold tickets follow us on social media so keeping everyone updated is a task. Facebook posts, newsletters, tweets, and Instagram can be missed by many.
Please bare with us, and perhaps we can work together to avoid the use of angry emojis.
Magically Yours, DraigCon
